INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY

The Aim of a Study Programme:

To prepare qualified specialists who are able to design, install and administer information and communication technology systems in the organization, maintain, improve and manage computer hardware and software, information systems, computer networks, and independently improve their qualification.

 Learning Outcomes:

To acquire skills and abilities:

1. To know and understand the classical laws and methods of basic sciences, their application possibilities in interdisciplinary studies and professional activities.

2. To know concepts of information systems and understand their content.

3. To know and understand the principles of programming and database management.

4. To know and understand computer architecture, network components, structure and the principles of their operation.

To be able to perform engineering analysis:

5. To analyze information systems of the organisation and to identify the needs for computer services in the organization.

6. To select modern ways of designing, programming, installation and security of computer networks and information systems justifying them.

Knowledge and skills necessary for the implementation of designing works of the engineering study field of the study programme:

7. To collect and describe requirements for the created information system, to prepare the model of the design of the information system.

8. To understand design methods of computer networks and choose the most optimal variant for a particular situation.

To be able to carry out applied research:

9. To perform information search and analysis in order to apply latest technologies for management of processes in the organization.

10. To develop prototypes of information systems and conduct experimental research with them, necessary for grounding design decisions.

To have practical knowledge and skills to solve engineering problems:

11. To carry out installation and maintenance work of computer hardware and software.

12. To administer computer information systems and use information security measures.

13. To install and apply computer information system technologies in the activities of the organization, considering ethical, commercial and security aspects of selected solutions.

14 b. To design, carry out maintenance of computer networks and configure network operating systems*.

14 c. To design and programme mobile applications for smart devices*.

To have personal and social abilities:

15. To work in a team, to independently make decisions, improve learning skills, adapt to constant changes in the professional activity area.

Qualification to be awarded 

Professional Bachelor in Information System Engineering

Duration of learning

Full-time studies - 3 years.
Part-time studies - 4 years.

Having acquired the degree of Professional Bachelor in Information system Engineering the graduate will be able to work in companies and institutions which use computer technology, computer networks, database management systems and application software in their activities.

 

The graduate may continue studies at universities under the programmes in the study area of Technological Sciences, in the study field of Informatics Engineering and in the study area of Physical Sciences, the study field of Informatics.

Study programme was accredited for 6 years (on 18th September, 2012).

MULTIMEDIA TECHNOLOGIES

The Aim a Study Programme:

To prepare qualified specialists who are able to analyse and assess employed audio and video technologies, select multimedia hardware and software, design, create, integrate and manage multimedia products, independently improve their qualification.

Learning Outcomes:

To acquire skills and abilities:

1. To know and understand the classical laws and methods of basic sciences, their application possibilities in interdisciplinary studies and professional activities.

2. To know concepts of information technologies and understand their content.

3. To know and understand the principles of designing, creation and administration of websites.

4. To know and understand the principles of application, management and synthesis of audio and video technologies.

5. To know and creatively apply the principles of graphic design and multimedia art composition.

To be able to perform engineering analysis:

6. To investigate the demand for the multimedia product, to analyze competitive products.

7. To create and substantiate concepts of new products, choosing appropriate devices for their implementation.

Knowledge and skills necessary for the implementation of designing works of the engineering study field of the study programme:

8. To prepare a technical task for creation of the multimedia product.

9. To prepare the multimedia product development project, creatively choosing and using various methodologies, devices and tools.

To be able to carry out applied research:

10. To perform information search and analysis in order to apply latest technologies for management of processes in the organization.

11. To have work skills with multimedia creation devices.

12. To effectively choose and use hardware for creation of multimedia technologies.

To have practical knowledge and skills to solve engineering problems:

13. To analyze and select appropriate video, audio, text, graphic devices for creation of the multimedia product.

14. To create and improve web sites and their components, install multimedia elements in them.

15. To create and animate two-dimensional and three-dimensional computer graphics, to introduce the company or product choosing multimedia technologies.

16. To perceive ethical and commercial principles of creation of multimedia products.

17. To create and manage the creation, sale and distribution of the multimedia product.

Qualification to be awarded
Professional Bachelor in Information Technology

Duration of learning

Full-time studies - 3 years.
Part-time studies - 4 years.

The graduate will be able to work as a multimedia and web-designer, programmer in various companies and institutions (advertising and marketing, telecommunications, trade, tourism, e-publishing, etc. companies), develop, design and programme interactive web sites, establish his/her own company / institution providing multimedia products and services.

The graduate may continue studies at universities under the programmes in the study area of Technological Sciences, in the study field of Informatics Engineering and in the study area of Physical Sciences, the study field of Informatics.
